Excellent Vietnamese sandwiches made fresh. Also a unique collection of international food items you may not find anywhere else.

I have always had great customer service, the people working at the till or making the meals are consistently friendly and helpful if I have questions. The hot lunch options are unquestionably delicious. I often recommend it when people want to meet for lunch. They are also extremely supportive of other local businesses and vendors.

I haven't been in a while (for no good reason) and omgoodness it is just so good! I'm a foody and can't seem to find a decent meal in Lethbridge because it's ALL fast food chain stores but Umami is a treasure to behold in this non-creative, tastless city. Love it and will be back again and again.

Great food, very fresh atmosphere, clean and welcoming. I will be back and if you haven’t checked it out I’d recommend the beef lemongrass sub. It was top notch.

I like the niche this store sells to, and i love the atmosphere. My issue is the hours. I understand there may be little to do to remedy this, but it is a major inconviniance when you finish work after it closes.

Review for food, not the market. Very cozy place to eat out that is a short walk away from the downtown bus station. Food is good, just don't expect the authentic taste of the cuisines they offer. I had the bahn mi sandwich and the honk kong style boba tea based drink with normal tapioca. The boba was very light and was slushy. i found that the ice that drowned out a lot of the flavour but this would make this a great light drink in the summer time.Service is a little strange. You order your food with the same cashier that makes the supermarket transactions so you potentially have to wait in line to order if the market is busy. Boba teas are customized at a different counter behind the front counter and food and the drink you customized is delivered to your table.

All the stuff you can't find anywhere else. From all over the world. Neat and tidy. Friendly staff. Has seating for lunch by the windows. Unique menu.

Excellent selection of prepared meals, as well as a deli banh mi and salads. Lots of neat local things like kombucha and breads and frozen meats. Going to go back this weekend for some frozen steamed buns. My sister loves the boba there, they have interesting flavours (eg, kiwi tea with blueberry boba). Also, delightfully, a good selection German baking supplies. I ordered a pork kimchi sandwich, very delicious, fresh and crunchy. Overall I was surprised by the amount of ingredients from all over the world. Tidy and pleasant place to shop.

I always enjoy going to this store, the staff is friendly and helpful. Their food and drink products are always delicious. The variety of grocery good they carry is absolutely phenomenal. Umami is a diamond in the rough.

A store rich with exotic ethnic foods, gluten-free, organic, two "on-location" small kitchens and outstanding on-location made Kambucha! Great laid back atmosphere, a great place to shop for teas from around the world. Highly recommended!!

Have had their Vietnamese subs in the past and they were good. Picked up one today and the quality has clearly gone down hill. The bread was old and hard, the sub was dry and there was barely any meat. Will not be going back!

Nifty selection, butsome stuff on shelf is expired, or does not appear to have moved in months.

I have a gluten and dairy allergy and this is my favorite place to go for lunch! So many tasty options and great presentation. The staff are really nice and helpful with navigating their menu. Umami also has a bunch of niche grocery items I can’t find anywhere else in town.So many great things to say about this place!

Great store. Wide selection of imported foods. Japanese, korean, african, dutch, and english. Make sure to try their freshly made food!

I was a little confused when I first walked in. The setup/concept doesn't quite make sense to me, they have an insane assortment of world foods and foods for those who are DF, GF, and vegan, it was a little overwhelming, but once I got my bearings I learned to like it. The gentleman at the front counter was quite helpful, too. He offered me an order of Butter Chicken, that was accidentally made as an extra, for 50% off. I was weary about it because I wasn't committed to having Butter Chicken for dinner but went for it anyway and I'm SO glad I did - truly delicious!

I love this place and stop in as often as I can. Not only is there great food, there is a wonderful selection of ingredients that are hard to find elsewhere in town. I always leave with something new and awesome to try.

WOW! I had once stepped in this store about 4 months ago to see what it entailed, and was surprisingly not interested. HOWEVER I gave it a second chance today as I wanted to try something different for lunch, and I am so glad I went back! First off they have an amazing online order service so your food is hot and ready to pick up. Secondly when I got there, the service was phenomenal, and lastly the FOOD WAS AMAZING!! They have wonderful dishes from all ethnic backgrounds, which is great when your craving something different!I can't wait to go back there again! And I'm sorry for not trying it sooner!

I took the sushi class here and had a blast! Patricia was a really fun and engaging teacher. The ingredients were fresh. I learned a lot! I also love the macarons here a little too much... You can tell the owners care about sourcing great ingredients and educating customers on the food. Lovely experience.

I find myself coming back for their delicious macaroons. They also have tons of vegan and vegetarian options and health food! They also have local kombucha‘s and different beverages. If your a hippie or a health nut like me, this is the place to be!

Umami Shop is a must visit if you enjoy food and cooking. They offer a huge selection of foods from all over the globe. On top of that, they offer excellent food for takeout. I have been there for lunch before and I tried the Bahn Mi Pork Tacos. Would highly recommend checking them out for your cooking needs or some good food.

If you are looking for food that is made fresh, tastes amazing; and leaves you feeling satisfied, not bogged down; then Umami is just the place for you! I have never been disappointed in their food; and the selection & service is AMAZING!!

Had a cooking class there, the first I've ever done. It was awesome, especially with all the friends joining in. We will certainly be making some of the dishes ourselves, now that we know the methods and have the recipes. Other parts we would just be using the general helpful tips we picked up cooking our meal.I can recommend it, it is worth the price (especially I you mentally calculate the cost if a private cooking class and a great restaurant dinner).

I’m not to crazy about the food but their desserts are amazing! I really love their Swiss rolls.

Always great products and service at Umami! Had a fantastic beef and chicken satay there today, with a pork filled bun, handmade mochi, and a Bruce's ginger beer. Excellent authentic food that tasted delicious!

I've always accompanied a friend when he gets lunch here, never grabbing anything for myself until today.Just ordered their Butter Chicken sandwich for the first time and it was incredible. It didn't get soggy on the ride back to work, it tasted amazing, and I was able to share with a friend who thought the same!

Umami is the best place to get some good kombucha, and the food's really good too, but they need to dish out bigger portions of meat and smaller portions of vegetables. A lot of dishes are half lettuce, and when I order curry I ain't tryna eat a salad. I think they forget vegetables place as a compliment to the main feature and end up making them half the meal instead. I'm trying to get swole here, and no one's ever done that by eating lettuce. All in all good place 4/5

We came in on a Sunday for some shopping and stayed for lunch, they had an interesting dim sum menu. We had some steamed BBQ pork buns, pork and shrimp dumplings, and onion donut. The steamed bum was delicious but the dumplings were greasy and didn't taste fresh. The onion donut was confusing and not very tasty. It was some kind of fried bread with onions sprinkled on top and was not very flavorful. I also had a tea latte and that was absolutely delicious! Great place to peruse the shelves and they have a lot of octets things to try.

Eating healthy, delicious, ethnic food from home has never been so easy with their market selection you can take the goodness with you. I also ate in store and loved my experience! The prices are reasonable, people are great and I cant wait to try the upcoming cooking classes.

Did a cooking class here and really enjoyed the experience, however in a room full of strangers we did not love having to 'share' all of our food from the same bowls. Felt a little bizarre with people you didn't know! Other than that, the class itself was fun. And whenever we order food from here, it's always 10/10!
